In 1958, Etienne Six, son of wine merchant and son in law of a road contractor create SIX DERIJCKE sprl based in
Stambruges. Etienne Six is selling second hand trucks and earthmoving machinery both coming from the army and
from his father in law’s business. He then collaborates with Van Der Straeten, Holbrecht and Braem, the 3
companies deliver army trucks and earthmoving machinery to the site of Stambruges and Etienne Six was the
salesman. For more than 30 years, thousand of trucks and plant were sold to local contractors or exported to
West Africa.
In 1974, Luc Six, son of Etienne joins the company. He starts as purchaser abroad, particulary in Germany to buy
ex German army trucks and machinery.
In 1978, Luc realizes the potential to come in the rental market and then started LOCASIX Site accommodation
hire company.
In 1985, Paul Six, youngest son of Etienne, joins SIX DE RIJCKE sprl as purchaser and salesman, the business is
mainly 4x4 tipper trucks exported to West Africa.
In 1989, Paul starts SIX EQUIPMENT which is involved in earthmoving equipment sales and rentals.
Since, these companies increased and opened a second site in Thimister at the German border which is managed by
Stephane Six, cousin of the Paul and Luc brothers.
SIX EQUIPMENT currently counts a manpower of 11 professionals with different skills as technicians, salesman and
accountants still dedicated to the earthmoving equipment specially Compaction equipment and Excavator sales and
rentals.
As for LOCASIX which is still a Belgian leader of site accommodation sales and rentals.
